A snowy start to 2025!

Monday, January 6 was supposed to be a time to return to work and school after a long holiday break, but Mother Nature had something else on tap.

Morgan County Schools and the Morgan County Courthouse were shut down on Monday as a large winter weather storm settled into the area, bringing 4-5 inches of snow overnight on Sunday and then more overnight on Monday.

Road crews and private plows were out on county roads throughout the storm, scraping away each successive accumulation. Freezing temperatures are expected this week, promising the snow will remain for some time even as roads are cleared.

Wilkes Street in Berkeley Springs was passable on Monday morning, but not busy with traffic.
Downtown Berkeley Springs saw its share of snow plows on Monday morning as businesses and residents tried to stay ahead of a large storm over the area.
