Morgan County’s agency serving older adults is planning an expansion of their nutrition and social services into more communities around the county, they announced last week.
“Senior Life Services of Morgan County is pleased to announce an exciting expansion of its programs and services in the upcoming fiscal year. Building on its longstanding commitment to supporting older adults and vulnerable residents, the organization will now extend its reach to include the Greenwood and Pleasant View communities,” said Director Tammy Kees in a press release.
“This expansion reflects Senior Life Services’ ongoing mission to ensure that all residents of Morgan County have access to essential resources that promote independence, dignity, and quality of life. By broadening its service area, the organization aims to better meet the growing needs of seniors and their families throughout the county.”
Kees said Senior Life Services will build on partnerships with community centers in Greenwood and Pleasant View to potentially add social activities and wellness offerings in addition to the meal deliveries to those centers and surrounding homes.

“While the organization has already been serving nutritious meals from these sites, the expansion will include the development of larger home-delivered meal routes to reach individuals who are unable to attend in person,” Kees announced.
Meal delivery just expanded its reach in the Paw Paw area so that service now extends from Route 9 West to the West Virginia/Maryland state line, to the 5000 block of Bethel Road, the Pin Oak Fountain area, and along Route 9 East to Fishers Bridge.
Senior Life Services has meal delivery arrangements at additional sites at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Great Cacapon and Union Chapel along 522 South.
“Residents in Greenwood and Pleasant View will soon have access to a range of supportive services, which may include nutrition programs, wellness activities, and social engagement opportunities. These services are designed to help individuals remain active, connected, and supported within their own communities,” Kees said.
She said providing a reliable source of nutritious meals is one factor that helps senior citizens remain independent and able to stay living in their own homes as they age.
Those receiving meals are asked to make a donation toward the cost of supplies and transportation, but Senior Life Services is also reimbursed through state dollars to offer senior nutrition services.
