Irene Fay Storey
1937-2023
Irene Fay Storey, age 86, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, November 13, 2023 at her home.
Born August 19, 1937 in Elkins, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Holly Willard and Ada Elsie Fawley Mitchell.
She was a Christian. Irene attended public schools.
She was a homemaker to her children and family. Irene enjoyed canning and going on walks.
Irene is survived by her children, Richard Terry Hoover and his wife, Donna and Ronnie David Hoover and his wife, Cathy, all of Baltimore, Md., Jimmy E. Hoover and his wife, Diana of Emmitsburg, Md. and Teresa Storey of Berkeley Springs, one daughter-in-law, Connie Hoover of Keedysville, Md., 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Albert Hoover III, four brothers, Jay Mitchell, Darwin Mitchell, Denzil Mitchell and Robert Mitchell and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Mike Leedom officiated. Burial was in Greenway Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
