Nancy Tucker Jones
1941-2026
Nancy Tucker Jones, age 84, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Berkeley Springs Healthcare Center in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born November 4, 1941, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Evan and Jessie English Tucker.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard B. Jones of 61 years of marriage, he passed away December 2, 2023.
Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Holton Arms School, Washington, D.C. She continued her education and graduated from George Washington University, Shepherd University and West Virginia University.
She was employed by Morgan County Schools where she taught children with learning disabilities, retiring in 1999.
Nancy was a member of First United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. She was also a member and president of Kappa Delta Sorority at George Washington University.
Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, painting, and ceramics. Most of all she was a loving grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Nancy is survived by one son Robert L. Jones, of Rochester, Minn.; two daughters Susan J. Schultz, of Greenville, N.C. and Julie L. Tyson, of Chesapeake, Va.; six grandchildren: Mary Schultz Gruner, Maggie Schultz, Tara C.K. Montague, Dylan J. Kontra, Evan B. Jones and Sarah H. Jones and one great grandson, Theodore J. Montague.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 23, 2026, at 5 p.m., with two-hour prior visitation at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750. Pastor Josh Rider will officiate. Burial will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 12 p.m. at Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, 5377 Martinsburg Road, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s name can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Furnace Fund, 49 S. Green Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
Arrangements were entrusted to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750.
