Deborah Kay Barnes, age 62, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Evergreen Rehab & Nursing in Winchester, Va.
Born July 10, 1961 in Winchester, Va., she was the daughter of Allen Richard Speelman of Cross Junction, Va. and the late Phyllis June Hovermale Speelman.
She was a Christian.
Deborah was a graduate of James Wood High School in Winchester.
Debbie worked at the Timber Ridge School as a custodian.
She was a member and served as past president with the Risinger-Stotler VFW Post #4019 Auxiliary in Berkeley Springs.
Deborah loved to go camping and was always willing to help others.
In addition to her father, Debbie is survived by her husband, Randy Barnes, at home, three siblings, Donna Puffinberger of Cross Junction, Va., Sherry Lightner of Crafton, Ohio and Mark Speelman of Cross Junction, Va., and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 6752 Winchester Grade Road, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Dick Voorhaar officiated. The family received friends from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Debbie’s memory may be made directly to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
