Coach Palmer said, “We are very excited for the season to begin all of these girls have been playing since sixth grade. They each bring a special talent to the group, that when they come together and work as one it’s going to make for some challenging games.”
The team really don’t have height on their side but the duo of Miah Smith (setter) and Shayla Tanouye (OS) work well together when it comes to blocking the net.
Kelsey Hayes (DS), Britney Ramos (DS) and Lydia Ross (DS) are quick on their feet and protect the back half of the court. Karynn Kerns (OS), Myley Mullins (OS) and Pricilla Corbin (OS/DS) will see action as the other outside hitter.
The four Freshman Kyndal Corbett (OS), Katelynn Henderson (DS), Joselyn Smith (OS) and Abby Williams (Setter) will see playing time at the JV level as well as dressing for Varsity games.
“I love that the girls have positive attitudes and willingness to work together, but communication on the floor is going
to be one of the most important things we have to work on,” stated Coach Palmer.
The Paw Paw Pirates volleyball schedule is loaded, they will travel to East Hardy for PVC’s (East Hardy, Tucker County, Union, Petersburg, Pendleton), making a trip down to McDowell County, for a eight team tournament and finishing out the season with their Annual Pink Game against Berkeley Springs.
