Wayne Sylvester Ziler
1938-2023
Wayne Sylvester Ziler, age 85, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., died on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at War Memorial Extended Care Facility.
Born August 16, 1938 in the area of Doe Gulley in Great Cacapon, he was the son of the late George Wayne and Bessie Edith Stotler Ziler.
He was a Christian. Wayne was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
He worked and helped manage the family sawmill with his father and was a self-employed truck driver.
Wayne had a passion for restoring old cars.
Wayne is survived by his children, Barbara Diane Keefer of Hagerstown, Md., Timothy Dean Ziler and Brian Keith Ziler, both of Hancock, Md., Jeffery Lynn Ziler of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Chris Lee Ziler of Warfordsburg, Pa., one sister, Joann Mann of Great Cacapon, 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Eugene Ziler, two brothers, Bobby Carroll Ziler and Kenneth Eugene Ziler and one granddaughter.
The family received friends from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Services and burial was private in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Great Cacapon, W.Va.
