Nine Morgan County Schools retirees were honored at a June 1 retirement celebration at the Country Inn. The employees’ years of service to the school system ranged from 16 to 32 years in the local schools.
Widmyer Elementary kindergarten teacher Pam Ryan retired at the end of the 2022-2023 school year with 24 years of service to Morgan County Schools.
Widmyer Elementary first grade teacher Dena Kerns retired at the end of the 2022-2023 school year with 31 years of service to the county school system.
Widmyer Elementary Title I teacher Kim Didawick retired at the end of September 30 with 32 years of service to Morgan County Schools.
Warm Springs Intermediate School special education teacher Linda Cain retired at the end of March 31 with 24 years of service to the county school system.
Janet Rockwell, Widmyer Elementary kindergarten aide/early childhood classroom assistant teacher (ECCAT), is retiring at the end of July 31 with 29 years of service to Morgan County Schools.
Lisa Unger, Widmyer Elementary aide/early childhood classroom assistant teacher (ECCAT), is retiring on August 3 with 31 years of service to the county school system.
Janice Kump, Berkeley Springs High School secretary III, is retiring at the end of June 30 with 18 years of service to Morgan County Schools
Richard Curtis retired as county truck driver, welder, general maintenance, carpenter II and locksmith at the end of December 31 with 18 years of service to the county school system.
Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Corporal Kevin Barney is retiring from his position as Morgan County Schools prevention resource officer with 16 years of service. Barney is also retiring as a sheriff’s deputy.
