Traffic patterns change as beams placed on overpass at Winchester Grade Road

Traffic patterns along Winchester Grade Road/County Rt. 13 shifted on Tuesday, April 11 to accommodate overhead crane activity related to the construction of the U.S. 522 Bypass. Two cranes worked in tandem to lower beams onto the overpass abutments near the Sheetz store in Berkeley Springs. By 1 p.m., two beams had been set in place. Work is expected to continue through Wednesday, April 12. Local drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes around Winchester Grade Road during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. these two days. Flaggers are directing traffic through the area between beams being set.
