1922-2018

Olive Noland King, 96, of Paw Paw, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

She was born December 10, 1922 in Paw Paw, daughter of the late Earl Richard Noland and Sarah Catherine “Sallie” Ambrose Noland.

She was a 1940 graduate of Paw Paw High School, had worked at the leather tannery in Paw Paw, Inter-type in Winchester, National Fruit and as a waitress at the Paw Paw Restaurant.

She was a member of the Paw Paw United Methodist Church, Harley Bohrer American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary, Paw Paw Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and served as secretary for the Paw Paw Alumni Association and a member of the Eastern Star in Berkeley Springs.

She liked to crochet.

She is survived by her husband Henry R. King, whom she married June 12, 1971; one daughter, Deanna Cowgill, Paw Paw; two grandsons, Scott Whitacre, Cumberland, Md. and Kenneth Whitacre, Boonesboro, Md.; six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Clyde H. Kidwell, whom she married in 1941.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 4 at Kimble Funeral Home. Pastor Earl Travis officiated.

Interment was in Woodrow Cemetery, Paw Paw.
