First the parade, then the candy

The 72nd annual Hancock Halloween Parade will be held on Wednesday, October 30, with a rain date the following day in case of inclement weather.

The parade will begin at 7:30 p.m. and follows a westward route along Main Street.

Interested parties still have until Friday, October 25 to register to participate in the parade. Call Parade Chairman Dr. Dan Murphy at 301-678-6635 for more information or to fill out an entry form.

The parade is made possible by The Rotary Club of Hancock Foundation.

Rain date for the parade is Thursday, October 31.

In order to avoid any possible conflict with the parade rain date, town officials have set town-wide Hancock Trick or Treating for Friday, November 1, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Town residents who want to participate in receiving trick-or-treaters should leave their porch lights on that evening.

Hancock in Motion will hold their Trunk or Treat event in Widmeyer Park on Thursday, October 31 with Atlantic Off Road Performance from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

If the Hancock Halloween parade has to be moved to October 31 due to bad weather, the Trunk or Treat in the park will be held on November 1.
