Karlie Dawn McJilton

1977-2026

Karlie Dawn McJilton, age 48, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born on November 21, 1977 in Newark, Ohio, she was the daughter of Margaret Ellen “Maggie” Boyer Stiles and the late Dana Franklin Stiles.

She attended Mt. Zion Orleans Crossroads Community Church.

Karlie was a 1996 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She worked as a special needs teacher’s aide for Morgan County Schools.

Karlie enjoyed listening to music, playing pool and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Joseph Clarence “Jody” McJilton, at home, her children, Kelsey Lantz (Henry Lantz), Levi Kesecker (Kelsey Barron), Daniel McJilton (Courtknee McJilton) and Codi McJilton (BJ Michael), one sister, Sarah Marie Stiles, five grandchildren, Hunter Lantz, Julia Lantz, Lilah Kesecker, Jaxon Michael, Bryar Michael and two nieces.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Aurora McJilton and Scarlett McJilton.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Karlie’s memory may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
