Theresa V. Mentzer

1935-2018

Theresa Victoria Mentzer, 83, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, November 23, 2018 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born July 26, 1935 in Johnstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Tony and Bertha Collar Fama.

She was a member of Grace Pentecostal Church in Johnstown.

She attended public schools in Johnstown and had worked at various factories as a sewing machine operator. She had been a homemaker in recent years.

Surviving are four grandchildren, Terry Lantz and Phillip Everts, both of Berkeley Springs, Jackie Sanders and Amanda Royer, both of Clearfield, Pa.; one sister, Jean Miller, Johnstown, Pa.; one brother, Rodney Fama of New Jersey; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Mentzer; two daughters, Bertha Gregory and Deborah Greendoner; one grandson; Christopher Mentzer and four brothers, John Fama, Jacob Fama, William Fama and Joseph Fama.

Services and interment will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to The Salvation Army, 111 Ellis Street, Martinsburg, WV 25404.

Arrangements are being handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs.
