Earl Lynn Fleegle

1953-2022

Earl Lynn Fleegle, 69, Hedgesville, W.Va., passed away peacefully with his wife and son by his side, Friday, October 28, 2022, after a long battle with bladder cancer.

Born January 12, 1953, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the middle of seven children of Emory and Hallie (Corbett) Fleegle, and the husband of Lyla (Carlisle) Fleegle, who he married November 18, 2006.

He grew up across the river bridge in Hancock, Md., where he would call “Home” the rest of this life. Nothing was more important to Earl than family. He was a ‘Ford man’ through and through and enjoyed old cars, westerns and watching any type of prizefighting with his son. He truly lived a very extraordinary life. As a young man, he bred championship bloodline dogs for a living. He once hitchhiked from Hancock, Md., to Denver, Colo. and back, with only his wits and close friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Earl Lynn Fleegle, Jr.; a daughter, Caitlyn Wulzer; two sisters, Cindy Revell, Pectonville, Md., and Beverly Line, Hagerstown, Md.; two brothers, Emery Junior Fleegle, Hancock, Md. and Jim Fleegle, Berkeley Springs, W.Va..; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 2, 2022, 5-7 p.m., at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Pastor Frankie Revelle will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Buck Valley Christian Church Cemetery, 2281 Harmonia Rd., Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev David Kidwell will officiate.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock, MD.
