Leslie Evangeline McManus
1949-2026
Leslie Evangeline McManus, 77, of Paw Paw, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.
She was born on January 14, 1949, in Paw Paw, and was the daughter of the late Charles Cross and Dorothy Lee Taylor Cross.
She was a housewife and attended the Winchester Church of God. She loved to sew, enjoyed making her children’s clothes and had a passion for crafting, baking cakes and mushroom hunting. She volunteered at SHIP, a home-delivered food program for the needy.
On September 25, 1966, she married Albert Leroy McManus, who preceded her in death. A son, Matthew Lynn McManus, and a daughter, Kelly Dawn McManus, also predeceased her.
Surviving are three daughters: Tracy Eaton (Wendell) of Paw Paw, Amy White (Richard) of Keyser, W.Va. and Jamie McManus (William Varner) of Paw Paw; one sister, Christina Sponaugle of Paw Paw; six grandchildren: Elizabeth (Eaton) Westbrook (Daniel); Jeremiah Eaton (Rachel); Brittany White, Shaun White; Kelly (White) Eversole (Brandon) and Gavin Varner and one great-grandson, Cameron Eaton.
Her body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 10 at the Paw Paw Senior Center with a light meal to follow.
