5th Annual Fireman’s Carnival delivers thrills & smiles as summer heats up

South Morgan Volunteer Fire Department presented their 5th annual Firemans Carnival on the fire company grounds from last Tuesday, July 14 through Saturday, July 18, drawing crowds to the lights, rides and carnival treats.

Summer temps soared as the week went on, and wildfire smoke cast a haze over the carnival late in the week, but residents and visitors of all ages showed up in support of the annual family event and fundraiser.

Snyder Entertainment provided the rides and select food trucks for the five-day event, and South Morgan operated their food pavilion and added games, from bingo under the tent to raffles, dime toss and tip jars.

Volunteers and sponsors joined forces to fund and staff the carnival, which included celebrity appearances by KITT, Smoky Bear and the Lady Mountaineer. County-supported fireworks went off Friday night and carnival visitors could listen to free live music each night.
