Sharon L. Bishop
1950-2026
Sharon Lee Bishop, age 75, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born September 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Esta Lee Fox.
Sharon was a devoted Christian who was a faithful member of Alpine Bible Church where she taught Sunday School. Her faith and love in God were something that always made her stand out amongst others.
She loved to spend time with the love of her life, taking country rides while holding one another’s hands. She loved to decorate for every holiday, sharing special moments with her grandbabies and hosting large family events at her home. She enjoyed sitting at auctions with her husband, being there for every friend or family member that needed her, dancing for no reason in the kitchen with her husband and meeting her lady friends, “The Chickadees” for lunch. These are just a pinch of the things she did to enjoy life to the fullest. Sharon taught her kids to keep Christ in their hearts and that tomorrow is never promised to anyone.
The day she left this earth she took a large piece of the puzzle that connected her and her family together. One day that puzzle will be complete again when we all join her in that mansion in the sky. If she could leave you all with one thing, it would be to love everyone even if they don’t love you back.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William “Bill” Bishop; two children Lonnie Bishop and Billie Jo Smith; one son-in-law, George Smith; two grandchildren, Skylar Baird McMullen, husband Jim Baird, Christopher Smith; two great grandchildren, Nicholas McMullen and Dylan Baird; two brothers, Gilbert Leon Fox and Tony Fox and Rodney Yost, whom she loved like a brother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Roger McMullen; daughter-in-law, Julie Bishop and one grandchild that she is holding in her arms in heaven.
Funeral services were conducted at noon on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Kenny Mason officiated. Burial was in Alpine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sharon’s name may be made to Alpine Bible Church, PO Box 754, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
