A Morgan County Grand Jury met in the Morgan County Courthouse last Tuesday, January 6 to hear the presentation of criminal cases for the upcoming court term.
The Grand Jury indicted 16 individuals on felony criminal charges. 
Donald M. Adams, 64, was indicted for a second offense of failure to register as a sex offender with the West Virginia State Police. Adams is being held without bond at the Eastern Regional Jail due to the nature of the charge. West Virginia State Police Trooper Warnick is the investigating officer.
Christopher A. Burnett, 32, was indicted on one count of fraudulent schemes. He is being held without bond at the Salem Correctional Center as he serves a prison sentence for a 2023 Jefferson County felony. West Virginia State Police Trooper Meyers is the investigating officer.
Joseph M. Caldwell, 58, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for fleeing from law enforcement while under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of fentanyl, driving on a suspended license, improper use of registration, no insurance and operating a motorcycle without the proper license endorsement. Caldwell is free on a $5,000 bond. West Virginia State Police Trooper Warnick is the investigating officer.
Aaron M. Carrie, 36, was indicted on one count of domestic battery, third offense. He is being held in lieu of a $15,000 cash/surety bond. West Virginia State Police Trooper Short is the investigating officer.
Bruce S. Garzon-Earthman, 23, of Burlington, N.J. was indicted on two counts of third-degree sexual assault. He is free on a $20,000 bond. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Hedrick is the investigating officer in the case.
Scott W. Kelleher, 47, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for driving revoked for DUI, third offense and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was released on a $3,000 bond. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Roper is the investigating officer in the case.
Angelina K. Riddell, 53, of Florence, Ala. was indicted for financial exploitation of an elderly person. She was released on a $5,000 cash bond. West Virginia State Police Trooper Meyers is the investigating officer.
Robert F. Shafer, 71, was indicted for fleeing from law enforcement while under the influence of alcohol and aggravated DUI. He is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond. West Virginia State Police Trooper Warnick is the investigating officer.
Matthew D. Snow, 47, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for driving revoked for DUI, third offense and providing false information to a member of a public safety department. He was released on a $3,000 bond. West Virginia State Police Trooper Meyers is the investigating officer.
Daniel S. Spielman, 20, of Hedgesville was indicted for fleeing from law enforcement while under the influence of alcohol and DUI, second offense. He is incarcerated in lieu of a $7,500 bond.
Garreth C. Strickland, 41, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for fraudulently obtaining welfare assistance. The West Virginia Inspector General’s Office investigated.
Alan S. Valido, 48, of Paw Paw was indicted for possession of fentanyl with the intent to deliver the drug, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver the drug, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm (habitual user). Valido is free on a $50,000 bond. West Virginia State Police Trooper Short is the investigating officer.
Kevin VanMeter, 36, of Cumberland was indicted for driving revoked for DUI, third offense. He is free on a $10,000 bond. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Knotts in the investigating officer.
Kathleen E. Virts, 31, was indicted on four counts of gross child neglect creating a risk of serious bodily injury and driving under the influence of a controlled substance with a minor in the vehicle. Virts is being held in lieu of a $40,000 bond.
Shawn D. Wiggins Jr., 28, of Clear Spring was indicted on two counts of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and driving under the influence of a controlled substance, second offense. Wiggins is free on a $50,000 bond.
Joseph E. Winfield III, 48, was indicted for driving revoked for DUI, third offense, improper use of registration and providing false information to a public safety department. He is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
