Sharing Christmas cheer and treats became Kapree Lewis’ holiday project this year, and was a resounding success as she and her family stuffed 57 stockings to be shared with youth in the region being served by CASA of the Eastern Panhandle. In a post sharing the photo and news of Kapree’s success, her family said the idea started as a “meaningful homeschool service-learning project focused on serving the community, learning about community helpers and understanding nonprofit organizations.”
“Kapree has learned the importance of respect for children from different backgrounds, why helping others matters, and the difference between fairness and equality. She is continuing to complete the academic portion of this project at home through written reflection and documentation,” Ami Lewis said in her post.
