Paul Vincent Martin
1931-2025
Paul Vincent Martin, 94, of Paw Paw, W.Va., passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born April 2, 1931 in Cumberland, Md., Mr. Martin was the son of the late Joseph Francis Martin and Cecelia Elizabeth (Greise) Martin.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife: Carol (Jamison) Martin; his sons: Michael and Joseph Martin; his brothers: George Martin and wife Shirley; Francis Martin and wife Margaret; and Robert Martin and wife Mary Jane; and a brother-in-law: Robert McGregor.
Paul was a graduate of LaSalle High School Class of 1949 and was also a United States Marine Corps Veteran in the Korean War era.
He retired from I.B.M. where he was a developer for educational material.
Paul was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, S.S. Peter and Paul Shrine, the Wamba Caravan #89 Order of the Alhambra where he served as a Past Grand Commander; and was also a member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Organization. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 128 Paw Paw, W.Va. and also the Paw Paw Senior Citizens Center where he was very active and also served as Treasurer. He was an ardent Redskins follower and was a lifelong hunter and fisherman.
Paul is survived by his wife of 20 years: Dolores “Jeanie” (Miller) Martin; his daughters: Elizabeth Johnson and husband Clifford; and Mary Carol Setash and husband Eric; and his sister: JoAnn McGregor; as well as 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-children: Charles Hott and wife Karen; Richard Hott and wife Suzann; and Mary Hott; and 7 step-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adams familyfuneralhome.com) on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Father Mark Carter, OFM Cap officiating. Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans’ Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
A Celebration of Life will be held following the funeral at Paw Paw Senior Citizen Center, 783 Winchester Street, Paw Paw, WV 25434.
