Emory Harrison Fleegle, Jr., age 78, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at his daughter’s home.
Born May 9, 1947 in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Emory Harrison Fleegle, Sr. and Hallie Jane Corbett Fleegle.
Emory attended Washington County, Md. schools. He worked as a sawmill operator.
He could pick up and play any instrument and played in bands and at local churches. He loved Jesus, music, animals, walking and anything outdoors.
He was a member of Love Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Ann Munday Fleegle, one daughter, Dixie L. Lanehart (Charlie) of Hancock, Md., two sons, Emory H. Fleegle, III (Erika) of Needmore, Pa. and Anthony S. “Tony” Fleegle of Hancock, Md., two sisters, Cindy Revell of Big Pool, Md. and Beverly Line of Hagerstown, Md., one brother, Jim Fleegle of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., four grandchildren, Huntley Fleegle, Cecilia Lanehart, Kendall Fleegle and Brittney Hernandez and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Heather D. Fleegle and three brothers, Bill Fleegle, Bob Fleegle and Earl Fleegle.
All services are private.
