Hunter James Fiske, 23, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, June 20, 2025, at his home.

Hunter was born on September 4, 2001, in Martinsburg, W.Va., the son of Michael Fiske, Sr. of Bowie, Md., and the late Kathy Miller.

He previously worked as a mailman for the United States Postal Service, he was a Boy Scout in Troop 121 in Berkeley Springs, volunteered his time at the Boys and Girls Club, was involved with the Widmyer Elementary School greenhouse and when he was younger, he wrote a piece on President Barrack Obama that aired on a newscast in Rochester, N.Y.

Hunter enjoyed wrestling, playing baseball, collecting Halloween figures and he was a big fan of Elvis.

Surviving along with his father is his paternal grandmother: Estalla “Lee” Welch (David Lewis) who he was raised by of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; maternal grandfather: Dennis Miller of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; five brothers: Roger Fiske and his wife Amber; Shawn Fiske, all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Alex Shade and Conner Shade, both of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Jaden Fiske of Sutton, W.Va., and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a brother: Michael Fiske, Jr.

A celebration of Hunter’s life was held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Gospel Light Tabernacle, 21 Gospel Lane (Cross Street, Williams Street) in Berkeley Springs at 11 a.m. Officiating was Pastor Tim Ziller.
