Rebecca Huber, currently Warm Springs Intermediate School Principal, was named the new Special Education Director and Director of Student Support Services for Morgan County Schools at the June 3 Morgan County School Board meeting.
Huber will begin her new position on July 1.
As Director of Student Support Services, Huber will oversee programs designed to enhance student well-being, including counseling, social work, and special education, according to a Morgan County Schools website post.
“Rebecca Huber brings valuable experience and dedication to her new position. As Principal at Warm Springs Intermediate School, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment while also improving student achievement each year during her tenure,” said school officials.
Rebecca (Miller-Gray) Huber served as intermediate school Assistant Principal from 2012-2016 with former Principal Dudley Cable. When Cable retired in June 2020, Huber was hired as Warm Springs Intermediate School Principal.
Huber was a special education teacher in Berkeley County for seven years before she became the intermediate school Assistant Principal in 2012. She had also worked as a Morgan County Schools central office special education specialist for 13 months just prior to that position. Huber also served as Berkeley County Schools Assistant Director of Special Education for two and half years.
“Her leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that every student in Morgan County Schools receives the support necessary to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally,” said school officials in their announcement.
Morgan County Schools Superintendent David Banks said: “We are confident that Rebecca’s expertise and passion for student success will greatly benefit our district. Her proven leadership and compassionate approach align perfectly with our mission of Every Child, Every Day.”
“I am honored to take on this new role and look forward to collaborating with staff, families, and the community to provide the best possible support for our students,” Huber said.
