The Dollar General store on Oakland Road in southern Morgan County has been closed for close to a week without explanation, and the store phone was not answered on Monday during business hours.
In response to questions from The Morgan Messenger about the closure of the store, company officials said in an email, “Dollar General’s location at 37 Oakland Road in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia is currently closed to address store standards. We hope to reopen the store under normal operating hours in the coming week and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers.”
Residents in the southern portion of the county and guests at Cacapon State Park frequent the store, which recently underwent a renovation and the addition of a small fresh food section.
