Betty J. Kidwell
1934-2025
Betty Jean Kidwell, 90, of Paw Paw, W.Va., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the home of her son in Great Cacapon, W.Va.
Betty was born on August 30, 1934, in Martinsburg, W.Va., the daughter of the late Marion and Martha Dawson Farris.
She attended Sparrows Point High School in Sparrows Point, Md.
In her early years she enjoyed picking apples. She worked for orchards in West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia.
She enjoyed hunting mushrooms, reading, doing cryptogram puzzles, scratching lottery tickets and spending time with her family.
She married Alfred L. Kidwell in 1955 in Cumberland, Md. Alfred died on May 22, 2009.
She is survived by two daughters: Lorna Kidwell of Cumberland, Md., and Luann Kesecker of Great Cacapon, W.Va.; two sons: Allen Kidwell of Paw Paw, W.Va., and Jason Kidwell of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Larry David Kidwell; infant twin daughters, Julie Lea and Jean Marie and two sisters, Mary Ellen Rich and Judy Roach.
Services and burial will be private.
