Edwina Martha “Winnie” Miller, age 84, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Care Facility in Kearneysville, W.Va.
Born December 12, 1940 in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Edwin and Edna Leona Mann Burke.
She was a member of Hancock Presbyterian Church.
Winnie was a graduate of Hancock High School. She worked as a cashier with the Hancock A&P and Super Fresh, retiring from Super Fresh after many years of service.
Winnie was a member of AARP, Alderton-Dawson American Legion Auxiliary Unit #60 and Order of The Eastern Star Berkeley Chapter #77.
Winnie is survived by her siblings, Gloria Lee Butts, Martinsburg, W.Va., S. Eileen Hovermale, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and Edwin A. Burke, Hagerstown, Md., several nieces and nephews who she treated like her own children and Marley, her dog and companion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Conrad Miller, one sister, Madeline J. Trumpower, one niece and one nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Pastor Timothy Close will officiate. Private burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, Md.
