Darek Knyles McCoy, age 40, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at his home.
Born March 7, 1985 in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of D.K. and Jennifer Michele Young McCoy.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Darek was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
He was a stone mason. He loved hunting, fishing, talking with good friends and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Jaydyn Elizabeth McCoy and Khylee Marie McCoy, one brother Joshua Keith McCoy and his wife, Kelsey Bennett McCoy, one nephew, Kaden Ray McCoy who loved Darek and called him “DD,” his paternal grandmother, Sandra Lou Henry McCoy, companion Megan Bonebrake and her son, Kash Swaim, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many good friends.
Darek was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Julia Maxine Jackson Young and Charles Edward Young and his paternal grandfather, Richard David McCoy.
Private graveside services will be in Highland Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Ricky Love will officiate.
