Richard Elden Schriver
1946-2025
Richard Elden Schriver, age 79, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at his home.
Born February 8, 1946 in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Elden Sidney Clarke and Hilda Evelyn Richards Schriver.
He was an independent owner operator in the trucking industry for 60 years.
Richard was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a graduate of Hancock High School, class of 1964 and Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America.
He was of the Protestant faith and a member of Cedar Grove Christian Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Laurie Wienclawski and Leslie Douglas, one son, James Schriver, his significant other of 34 years, Paulette I. Stull (P.I.), one sister, Linda Schriver Cashe, two brothers, Clyde Schriver and Glenn Schriver, and six grandchildren, Sunni, Noah, Kiersten, Casey, Emma and Maggie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Schriver, one sister, Lucille Creek, one infant daughter, Patricia Lee Schriver and his first wife, Maggie Schriver.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Pastor Tim Close officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Burial with graveside military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Cedar Grove Church Cemetery, Needmore, Pa. following services.
