Bernadine Unger
1940-2025
Bernadine Unger, age 84, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at her home.
Born April 3, 1940 in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Alva Cleveland and Myrtle Ollie Burton Mason.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin E. Unger, Sr., two sons, Melvin E. Unger, Jr., and Ricky Eugene Unger (Bonnie), one daughter, Thelma Ann Beall (Stan), one sister, Betty Lee Calvin, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Daisy Madeline Smith, Lula Vene Omps, Phyllis Jean Puffinberger, Dorothy Harris and Eva Crouse, and five brothers, Irvin Eugene Mason, Eugene Mason, Herbert Mason, Willie Mason and Marshall Mason.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Pastor Lisa Unger officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, following services.
