Denny was better known as Hubby, Dad, Granddad, Karen or Goat.
Dennis was born in Parsons, West Virginia to Agnes Bate and Lawrence Bates.
He had five brothers and one sister: James (Barbara), Richard (Bobbie), Howard (deceased wife Mabel), Larry (Linda) and Jack (Paula) and Nancy (Clyde).
He graduated in 1974. He served in the Army from 1976-1980 as a 63 Bro Power Generation and Wheel Mechanic. He also received a sharpshooter badge M16 rifle and a good conduct medal.
He met Brenda (Babe) and was married on November 15, 1980. Their son Danny was born January 15, 1982; their daughter Brandy was born July 21, 1987. He had five grandchildren: Brianna, Natalie, Zee, Emily and Camden. He also had a son-in-law (Chris) and daughter-in-law (Melissa).
He worked for Capitol Sprinkler up until he retired and moved back to West Virginia with Brenda and their dog Precious.
Denny loved his camouflage, whether it was a shirt, hat, pants – he loved to wear it.
My Hubby was an amazing man! Dennis was fighting lung cancer and lost the battle. He passed on our 44 year wedding anniversary.
Hubby, you will always be in my heart. I love you and can’t wait to be with you in Heaven. Your (Babe) Brenda.
