The Morgan County School Board approved the following personnel changes at their recent meetings, which included hiring after-school personnel and substitute school nurses along with approving several resignations and leaves of absence:
Jason Smith, Berkeley Springs High School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, was granted a leave of absence from January 6 through March 3.
Rachel Thompson and Elizabeth Gibson were employed as county substitute school nurses effective January 22.
Adam Feazell resigned as county technology coach effective at the end of December 19.
Naqayyah Kemp resigned as substitute county school nurse effective at the end of December 10.
Lydia Styles resigned as county substitute school nurse effective at the end of January 17.
Service personnel
Caitlin Stotler was employed as Pleasant View Elementary itinerant special education aide/autism mentor starting January 22.
Melissa Waugh, Berkeley Springs High School cook II, transferred to a position as Berkeley Springs High School cook II beginning January 15.
Redena Miller was hired as a Berkeley Springs High School cook II starting January 22.
Jack Krueger was hired as Warm Springs Intermediate School custodian III starting January 22.
Bus driver Tammy Wachter was granted a leave of absence from December 8 through February 3.
Barbara Litten resigned as Pleasant View Elementary itinerant special education aide/autism mentor effective at the end of December 31. Litten was employed as a substitute aide beginning January 6.
John Demarinis resigned as Warm Springs Middle School custodian III effective at the end of January 21.
Extracurricular/extra duty
Paul Price was employed as Paw Paw Schools after-school program teacher starting December 18.
Charity Brinegar and Toby Puffenberger were employed as Pleasant View Elementary Growing Roadrunners After School Program (GRASP) teachers starting January 22.
Morgan Golden was hired as county Science Fair Coordinator beginning December 18.
Doug Boyles and Jennifer Fox were employed as Warm Springs Intermediate School third grade after-school program teachers starting December 18.
Michael Bergen resigned as a bus driver of a supplemental bus run effective at the end of January 13.
Coaches, athletics
Chad Brinegar was employed as Berkeley Springs High School athletic director starting January 20 through June 30 due to an extension of a leave of absence.
Tory Bennett was hired as a Warm Springs Middle School volunteer assistant wrestling coach beginning December 18 for the 2024-2025 season.
Ian Helmick resigned as Berkeley Springs High School head cross country coach effective at the end of January 21.
Tessa Palumbo resigned as Paw Paw Schools head cross country coach and also as Paw Paw Schools head track coach effective at the end of December 14.
Temporary/part-time
Toby Puffenberger was hired as Pleasant View Elementary math coach starting December 18 as needed.
Action/discussion
The school board approved Superintendent David Banks’ recommendation to terminate the probationary contract of a professional employee, with a personnel hearing if requested.
