Keith Edward Moats, Jr., age 35, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore, Md.
Born December 26, 1988 in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of Keith Edward Moats, Sr. and Robin Lynn Willey Moats of Clear Spring, Md.
He was a graduate of Washington County Technical High School.
Keith worked as a correctional officer with the Roxbury Correctional Institute in Hagerstown, Md.
He was a member of the Western Maryland Association, Stoney Cabin Association and Mercersburg Sportsman Association.
Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gunsmithing. He loved to watch his two favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox. Keith most of all loved spending time with his sons and his family.
Keith is survived by his wife Sarah Marie Hartwick Moats, at home, two children, Landon Michael and Jaxon Willey, both at home, one sister, Michael “Miki” Ritz and her husband, Ronald Ritz, Jr. and one nephew, Caleb Ritz.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. A Celebration of Life Service will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Keith’s memory may be made directly to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
