Tiffany Marie Rider
1992-2024
Tiffany Marie Rider, age 32, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center in Culpeper, Va.
Born August 16, 1992, Tiffany was brought into the world full of love, joy and creativity. At an early age, Tiffany was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type II (NF2), which is a genetic condition that causes tumors to appear on nerves mainly in the skull/brain area and on the spine which lead to a decrease of various motor skills. The disease eventually caused Tiffany to become permanently disabled, but her medical journey to live and thrive became a journey that she shared with her family, friends and the community as many “journeyed with her” as she faced every medical challenge head-on while keeping her strong faith in God.
Her medical story was witnessed by many in the community, and the community helped to give her motivation to keep fighting to survive.
While she was diagnosed at an early age with the disease, the disease didn’t stop Tiffany from living a good quality life.
Tiffany was a graduate from Berkeley Springs High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, W.Va. After graduating from Shepherd University, Tiffany worked as a receptionist at the Renaissance Spa and served as an in-home early childhood educator for Morgan County Head Start, both in Berkeley Springs.
During her time in college, she started dating Joshua Rider, who eventually became her husband on April 29, 2017. Tiffany and Joshua came together to become one and both continued to show unconditional love, loyalty and support to one another during their lives together.
Tiffany’s most loved hobbies include crafting, traveling, reading books and watching movies. She loved making floral arrangements and shadow boxes, taking road trips to see the world, create adventures in her mind through the stories of books and read captions to watch and enjoy movies.
Tiffany had a strong faith in God and believed in the saving power of Jesus Christ. Her faith is what kept her alive as she faced so many medical challenges that many would not have attempted to conquer. If someone told her she couldn’t do it, she didn’t waste her energy on convincing people with words but rather just showed people her actions.
Tiffany is survived by her husband, Joshua David Rider, age 37, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., one Toy Poodle “dog daughter,” Sandy (19 years old), two foreign exchange daughters, Eduarda “Duda” Flores-Goncalves from Brazil and Angelina “Angie” Schmidt from Germany, mother, Pamela Didawick and her fiancé, Gary Wachter of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., father Jason Didawick and his wife, Vonda Didawick of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., one biological brother, Jeffrey “Jay” Didawick of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., three additional sisters, three additional brothers, one pair of maternal grandparents, one paternal grandmother, six nephews, one niece and numerous close friends she loved as family.
Tiffany is preceded in death by one paternal grandfather.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 10123 Valley Road, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024 with Rev. Michael Leedom presiding. Burial will take place in Union Chapel Cemetery immediately following the service.
The family will receive friends at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. on Sunday, November 24, 2024 between the times of 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
