The Bath Christmas Project has been busy decorating for the holidays.
Hunter Clark, president of the non-profit, all volunteer group of “elves” said donations purchased 1,000 new lights on the community Christmas tree on the Fairfax Green. It has a “topper” and will be lit Thanksgiving night, November 28.
The tree will go dark on December 7 and the official lighting will be relit after the Winter Fest Parade is over on Saturday, December 7.
A free Christmas movie is planned for 2 p.m. on December 7 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church rectory.
Signs will be up pointing to where to go, Clark said on Monday. And free popcorn will be available.
Clark said tickets are on sale for the fundraising event “Christmas at the Castle” to benefit the Bath Christmas Project. That will be held December 12-14.
The Memorial Tree in the Berkeley Springs State Park in the gazebo is going up this week and Widmyer Elementary School students will display their ornaments hanging in the trees in front of the Morgan County Courthouse on North Washington Street.
Clark said more plans for this year will be revealed with “the exciting surprises we have in store for you.”
“We can’t wait to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with you and your support for the Bath Christmas Project’s important work.”
The project has a new donation form on their website at www.bathchristmasproject.com where convenient features have been added.
