1961-2024

Chase Glen Ames passed away on the Medivac flight enroute to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown on October 26, 2024.

Chase was born in West Covina, Calif., to J V and Nancy (Berger) Everhart on October 11, 1961.

At a young age, the family moved to Welcome, N.C., where he lived until moving to Washington, D.C. in 1986.

Chase has made his home in Berkeley Springs for 34 years and considered this home. For 20 years he operated the Berkeley Springs Spa and Inn until his retirement.

An avid computer geek, his passion was learning new programming languages and building systems on his computer. He compiled notebooks of data structures and algorithms and would spend hours watching videos on computer languages and tips and tricks.

He is survived by his partner of 37 years, Darryl Ames; a sister Belinda (Stacy) York, of Welcome, N.C.; and two nieces Kaylee (Michael) Foster and Emilee York; and two great nephews.

Chase’s wishes were to be cremated with no service.
