George G. Clem III

1951-2024

George Gilbert Clem III, 72, of Winchester, Va., died on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the Winchester Medical Center surrounded by family.

George was born on November 24, 1951, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., the son of George G. Clem, Jr. and Gladys Boehme Clem.

George was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Pentecostal Church, attended Timber Ridge Church and Winchester Church of God, was a Boiler Specialist for an HVAC company and later worked for National Fruit Products in Winchester. George was a former Evangelist and loved his Lord, he was a story teller and had a big sense of humor.

George married Barbara Miller-Clem on August 6, 2004 in Hagerstown, Md. Barbara died on August 29, 2022. Surviving is a son: George B. Clem of Henrico, Va.; a daughter: Angela D. Clem of Winchester, Va,; a sister: Christine Clark of Groveland, Fla,; two grandsons: DaShawn Ford (Jeanette Ford) and Shavon Laws; three great-grandchildren: Azariah and Naomi Ford and Sophia Laws; one step great-grandchild: Elijah Johnson; multiple nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a brother: Frank Reardon and two sisters: Patricia Clem McCreary and Georgeanna Unger.

A graveside service was held in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Cross Junction, Va., on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. Military rites were accorded by the United States Army. Officiating was Pastor Kent Woodward.
