Helene Stella Weller
1933-2024
Helene Stella Weller, age 90, formerly of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Helene was born on November 11, 1933, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., the daughter of the late David and Ethel McElhaney Harr.
Helene married the late Ernest Weller (deceased on August 21, 2006).
Helene retired from the Waring Company in McConnellsburg, Pa.
She enjoyed sewing and reading and collected cookbooks and cookie jars.
Helene is survived by four daughters, Barbara Peck of Warfordsburg, Pa., Patricia Shoemaker of Hancock, Md., Debra (wife of Michael) Morris of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Karen Mellott of Warfordsburg, Pa.; four sons, David (husband of Leslie) Weller of Hancock, Md., Douglas Weller of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Russell (husband of Debra) Weller of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Gary (husband of Millie) Weller of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; many grand, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Helene is also survived by one sister, Jane Manley of Needmore, Pa.
In addition to her parents, Helene is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Weller; one daughter, Wilma Strait; one infant son, Buddy and seven siblings, Jobie Harr, Doris Knable, Kenny Harr, Ronnie Harr, Agnes Gress, Blanche Pine and Grace Souders.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Valley Health War Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion shown to her and her family.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg, Pa., with the Rev. Denver Plessinger officiating.
The family has entrusted Helene’s care to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, Pa.
