The sun came out for a live concert by Baltimore’s Kelly Bell Band at Berkeley Springs State Park on Saturday, August 17.
Originally formed as Bo Diddley’s backup band, the genre-defying musicians played covers of rock classics from the likes of Black Sabbath and Elton John, as well as original numbers combining elements of funk, blues, and hip hop.
The crowd rose to their feet, dancing and swaying to the undeniable energy and rhythm the band brought to the park.
Recently named best band by Baltimore Style magazine, the band included frontman Kelly Bell, known as ‘The Bluesman’, vocalist and fiddle player Taylor Zimmerman, Ryan Fowler and Eric Robinson on guitar, Frankie Hernandez on bass, Jon Maurer on keyboard, and John Robert Buell on drums.
This summer’s Saturday concert series in the park has been sponsored by Morgan Arts Council.
In a community spotlight, The Flashbacks will perform at the park on Saturday, August 24 starting at 5:30 p.m.
