Doris Virginia Combs, age 79, of Hedgesville, W.Va., died on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born December 14, 1944 in Prince Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Andrew Leroy and Virginia Mary Roberts Beverley.
She attended Faith Bible Church in Hedgesville.
Doris was a graduate of Calvert High School. She worked as a childcare provider.
Mrs. Combs enjoyed reading the Bible, watching game shows and loved spending time with her family.
Doris is survived by her children, Tony Jess Combs and Betty Darlene Combs, both of Denton, N.C., Judy Angela Combs of Hedgesville, Lisa Dawn Lemmon and her husband, Donald of Martinsburg, W.Va., Jeffrey Willard Combs and his wife, Susan of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and Denise Beverley Fredman and her husband, Greg of Cross Junction, Va., two sisters, Linda Guy and her husband, Dean of Clements, Md. and June Aubresch and her husband, Joseph of St. Leonard, Md., one brother, Andrew Beverley and his wife, Patsy of St. Leonard, Md., nine grandchildren, Darla, Crissy, Tina, T.J., Brandon Semonco, Tristan and Kailee Combs, Evan and Makenzie Fredman, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Willard Combs, one sister, Joyce Eiler and one brother-in-law, Daniel Eiler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Andrew J. Hamrick will officiate. Burial will be in Great Cacapon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
