Postal customers in Great Cacapon were informed recently that vandalism and unwanted activity around the Great Cacapon Post Office would cause the lobby to locked up outside of business hours.
An informational flyer put in mailboxes there said no lobby keys would be issued to allow boxholders to get to their mail beyond business hours.
Great Cacapon’s post office business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The lobby will remain open during lunch, said the notice.
An approved spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service couldn’t be reached for comment about the change.
