Karen Hall Holden
1957-2024
Born for a different time, Karen Hall Holden, of Berkeley Springs, passed away on July 19, 2024.
She passed in her home surrounded by the family given to her by God through her late husband Gerald Thompson Holden, Jr and dear friend Linda Haines. Together they shared a life filled with the love of music, dancing, motorcycles, and the past; which they celebrated by participating in Civil War reenactments with the 43rd Virginia Partisan Rangers.
Karen was an avid seamstress and took great pride in creating dresses and costumes for those reenactments. Both were members of the SCV Motorcycle Club.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Charles and Virginia Hall who she loved deeply.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas May 31, 1957, Karen maintained her Texas pride throughout her years living in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.
She is survived by her stepdaughter Gerri Haines (Kenny Haines), granddaughter Taylor Tyser (Austin Tyser), grandson Levi Haines (Cierra Connelly), Scott Holden (Ashley Holden), granddaughter Sadie Holden, and Stepdaughter Ginger Murphy (Matt Murphy), as well as brothers Richard and Chip Hall and their families.
Prior to her death, Karen chose to make the generous donation of her body for research to WVU School of Medicine through the West Virginia gift registry.
It is the prayer of her family that this gift will offer hope to others facing their own battle with Breast Cancer.
