Berkeley Springs man jailed after stolen vehicle recovered

Jeremy S. Davis, 36, of Berkeley Springs was arrested by warrant on Wednesday, July 24.

Davis has been charged with grand larceny and felony escape in connection with a vehicle reported stolen, according to a criminal complaint filed in Morgan County Magistrate Court by West Virginia State Trooper B.A. Meyers.

On Sunday, May 19 at about 10:30 a.m., police responded to a farm on Luther Michael Road for a reported stolen vehicle, a custom 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 that had been parked unlocked the night before in a field with the keys in the ignition, according to the criminal complaint.

During a criminal investigation, Trooper Meyers located the stolen vehicle on Pleasant Ridge Road in Needmore, Pa.

The truck had been re-painted a solid black, and the custom aluminum bed had been replaced with a standard truck bed.

A person at the scene claimed Davis asked him to complete the vehicle’s modifications, according to the criminal complaint.

Witnesses also reported seeing Davis driving the stolen Dodge Ram around Sand Mine Road, according to the criminal complaint.

Davis remains incarcerated at Eastern Regional Jail awaiting a hearing.
