Melissa June Unger
1980-2024
Melissa June Unger, age 43, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born August 9, 1980 in Montgomery County, Md., she was the daughter of Roger Lee and Barbara Jo Myers Ruckman of Berkeley Springs.
She was a member of Faith in God Chapel, where she was the youth director, Sunday School Teacher and treasurer.
Melissa was a 1998 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Shepherd College in Elementary Education. She worked as a teacher with Morgan County Schools and Christian Home School Group.
Melissa enjoyed farming, gardening, canning and making soaps.
In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by her husband of 23 years, Michael Warren Unger, at home, two children, Malachi L. Unger and Micah W. Unger, at home, one sister, Rebecca J. Unger of Berkeley Springs and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Melissa was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew L. Ruckman.
Services and burial will be private.
