Kenda Anne Dawson Stotler

1943-2024

Kenda Anne Dawson Stotler passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

She was born July 2, 1943 in Martinsburg, W.Va., the daughter and only child of the late Kenneth Clinton Dawson and Annalea Virginia Pyne Dawson.

She attended Burke Street School before moving to Berkeley Springs as a pre-teen.

She was a student at Berkeley Springs High School and a member of the band and a majorette. She was also a member of the Arrowhead Yearbook Staff.

Kenda Anne graduated from Greenbrier Preparatory School and Greenbrier College for Women. She had lots of wonderful memories attending the Old Stone Church across from the campus then a taxi to the Greenbrier Hotel for Sunday brunch. She enjoyed Homecoming at Greenbrier Military School across town and dinner at W & L or Virginia Tech, both all boys schools at the time.

Throughout her life her parents always made good decisions for her. Greenbrier was perfect. As a child she was a member of the John Augustine Washington Chapter children of the American Revolution C.A.R. As a student, she was a member of The Shenandoah Valley Chapter D.A.R.; also a member of the Shepherdstown Chapter W.D.C. 128.

She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Phillip Stotler, Jr.; two sons, Lanceton Dawson and Britton Phillip; one daughter-in-law, Caitlin; two grandchildren, Noah Robert and Letha Grace.

Graveside service was held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Union Chapel U.M.C. Cemetery in Berkeley Springs with John Kidwell officiating.
