The Bath Town Council voted unanimously on June 18 to appoint full-time police patrolman Ron Gardner as interim Bath Police Chief for the town.

Former police chief William Carper resigned on May 28.

There was no discussion in the public meeting, Mayor Scott Merki said, since this is a personnel matter.
