Nancy Elizabeth Riggleman

1933-2024

Nancy Elizabeth Foster Riggleman, 91, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., formerly of Winchester, Va., died on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Berkeley Springs Healthcare Center.

Nancy was born on January 12, 1933, in Winchester, Va., a daughter of the late Robert A. and Lelia Brown Foster.

She cooked for 42 years for various restaurants in the area including Plumbly’s Diner, Fern’s Fine Food and Tortuga Restaurant. Nancy enjoyed cooking, camping, canning and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her significant other: John “Jackie” Heishman; two brothers: Garland and Charles Foster and one sister: Alice Foster.

Surviving are four sons: Victor A. Riggleman (Debbie); Jack E. Riggleman, Jr. (Cindy) all of Winchester, Va.; Roger D. Riggleman (Jackie) of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; Kenneth R. Riggleman (Lisa) of Winchester, Va.; four daughters: Wanda F. McFadden (Denny); Linda M. Tyson all of Winchester, Va.; Judith E. Turner of Woodstock, Va.; Charlotte M. Salvador (Terry) of Winchester, Va.; her brother: James E. Foster of Winchester, Va.; two sisters: Edith Culp of Winchester, Va.; Dorothy Kerns of Slanesville, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends at the Giffin Funeral Home and Crematory in Capon Bridge, W.Va., on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 11:30-1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Officiating was Nelson Caldwell and Pastor Rodney Truax. Interment followed in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hayfield, Va.
