The Morgan County School Board approved a long list of professional and other
personnel changes at their recent meetings. Personnel actions included transfers of professional personnel, hiring of new teachers, substitutes and summer personnel.
Warm Springs Intermediate School Assistant Principal Christie Butts transferred to a position as Pleasant View Elementary Principal starting July 1.
Butts has been the intermediate school assistant principal since August 2022 and was a fourth grade intermediate school teacher for 10 years.
Robert Dugan transferred from a position as county instructional/technology coach to Coordinator of Curriculum and Attendance beginning July 1.
Dana Scharf was employed as county Special Education Coordinator starting July 1.
Melissa Jiannotti was employed as Warm Springs Middle School art teacher starting August 12.
Logan Osborn was hired as a Berkeley Springs High School social studies teacher beginning August 12.
Meghan Powell transferred from a position as Berkeley Springs High School English language arts teacher to a Warm Springs Middle School seventh grade English language arts teacher starting August 12.
David Mundey transferred from a position as Berkeley Springs High School lead alternative education teacher to a Warm Springs Middle School multi-categorical special education teacher for students with autism beginning August 12.
Lisa Wenzel transferred from a position as temporary/part-time county special education instructional/behavioral coach to one as special education/behavior coach starting July 1.
Kari Lacy resigned as Berkeley Springs High School long-term substitute math teacher effective at the end of April 22.
Michelle Smith resigned as Warm Springs Middle School Spanish teacher effective at the end of May 29.
Robin Langenstein resigned as Warm Springs Middle School long-term substitute counselor effective at the end of June 30.
Patricia Schlaefli resigned as school nurse, effective at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
Kandy Pentoney was hired as a substitute teacher starting July 1.
Kristen Tuttle was employed as substitute teacher (administration) beginning July 1.
Restructure position
The board approved restructuring a Warm Springs Middle School Spanish teacher position to a Warm Springs Middle School Exploring Technology-CTE (Career Technical Education) teacher position.
Superintendent authorization
The school board authorized the superintendent to accept resignations, post positions and hire employees pending board approval at the next regularly scheduled meeting, beginning June 5 through the end of September 3.
Temporary/part-time
Breonnah Ziler was hired as an extended school year (ESY) county speech language pathologist beginning June 17 as needed.
Tessa Palumbo was employed as an extended school year (ESY) multi-categorical special education teacher (K-6) starting June 17 as needed.
Summer personnel
Mylissa Daniels was employed as Widmyer Elementary summer school program coordinator from June 21-June 28 and July 8-July 19, as needed.
Serenity Wise, Adelai Anstine, McKayla Romo, Jean Kline and Jessica Mirfin were hired as Widmyer Elementary summer program teachers from June 21-June 28 and July 8-July 19, as needed.
Toby Puffenberger was employed as Pleasant View Elementary summer program teacher from June 21-June 28 and July 8-July 19, as needed.
Tessa Palumbo was hired as Paw Paw Schools summer program teacher from June 21-June 28 and July 8-July 19, as needed.
Michael Wilder and Thomas Lacy were employed as Berkeley Springs High School summer school teachers from June 4-July 17 as needed.
April Emerson was employed as county summer custodian effective July 8-19 as needed.
Kaitlyn Hall was hired as halftime summer cook II from June 21-June 28 and July 8-August 2 as needed.
Robin Fleece, Gloria Rankin, Megan Lampson and Barbara Munson were hired as summer bus drivers from June 24-June 28 and July 8-July 19 as needed.
Gloria Rankin and John Marra were employed as MC After 3 bus drivers from July 22-August 2 as needed.
Additional position
The board approved an additional position of a project director for the MC After 3 summer camp from July 18-August 6 at $25 an hour.
