Michael Wayne Chalupka
1946-2024
Michael Wayne Chalupka, Sr., 78, passed away, Monday May 27, 2024, at his home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Wednesday, May 15, 1946, Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Paul and Lizetta (Spiker) Chalupka, and the husband of Dixie Souders Chalupka.
He was a 1965 graduate of Hancock High School.
He retired from AT&T and Homeland Security in 1999.
He enjoyed woodworking, finishing stained glass, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with all his grand and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a son, Michael W. Chalupka, Jr., and wife Laura, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a daughter, Michelle Chalupka, of Hancock, Md.; six grandchildren, Kenny, Cameron, Noah, Rosemary, Rachel and Nora; two great-grandchildren, Chaz and Colton; and a brother, Gerald Chalupka, Needmore, Pa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Chalupka, Sr.
The family received friends, Saturday, June 1, 2024, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Alpine Methodist Church, 5181 Pious Ridge Road, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Funeral services followed at 12 p.m. at the church. Pastor Kenny Mason officiated. Military Honors were provided by Fulton Honor Guard. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main St. Hancock, Md.
