Betty Ann Lewis

1947-2024

Betty Ann Lewis, age 77, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at her home. She was surrounded by her family and friends and while under the care of Hospice.

Born February 28, 1947, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Marlin Elwood Butts and the late Gladys Jane Butts.

She was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

Throughout her lifetime, she worked as a banker, office manager and real estate appraiser, but her most treasured accomplishment was being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family and friends will miss her greatly. She will forever be remembered by the love she extended to everyone.

She attended Word of Deliverance Church and was an avid hunter and fisherwoman, which she did alongside her husband for many years.

She was a member of the Up the River Hunting Camp and made lifelong friends there. Some of her specialties included hosting and cooking meals for large family gatherings, sewing anything and everything, shopping for and collecting shoes, and creating memories with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Thomas W. Lewis and her two children, Timothy Allemong and wife, Lynda of Gaithersburg, Md., and Stefanie Allemong of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two stepchildren, Thomas W. Lewis and fiancé Morgan of Bedford N.H., and Jennifer Swientoniowski and husband, Kirk of Fairfax, Va.; 4 grandchildren- Morgan Ambrose, Alexandra McCusker, Brayden Allemong and Colton Allemong; step grandchildren, Katherine Lewis, Margaret Lewis, Daniel Lewis; four sisters, Janie Swaim, Trish Allemong, Polly Hessler and Marlyn Brandfass.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Word of Deliverance Church, 116 Harvest Drive, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time. Pastor Lisa Unger will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hedgesville, W.Va.
