Morgan County School Board members are getting ready to hire a new superintendent for Morgan County Schools. School board president Aaron Close said on Monday that the board had interviewed all four finalists for the superintendent’s position and made an offer to one of the finalists last week.
The candidate has agreed to the school board’s contract offer of salary and benefits for the superintendent position, Close said. Discussion and formal approval by the board will be at the May 21 school board meeting,
The hiring of the new superintendent was not placed on the May 7 school board agenda due to the timing of posting the agenda. However, Close said he would make an announcement about the superintendent hiring at the May 7 meeting.
Close noted that the candidate for the superintendent’s position has vast experience as a school superintendent and a plethora of years in running schools.
